Cheesesteak Meat Supplier Doubling Production with New Facility

By Emma Dooling - Reporter, Philadelphia Business Journal

Philly's Best Steak Co., which supplies popular local cheesesteak spots like John's Roast Pork and Oh Brother, is opening a new facility in Delaware County that will help the company double its production.

The 30-year-old family-owned business is finishing up construction on a 60,000-square-foot building at 404 Industrial Park Drive in Yeadon, near its existing headquarters. The meat processing and warehousing facility is expected to come online in January, President Zafeiris Akranis told the Business Journal.

This will be the fourth building Philly's Best operates in that industrial park. The Akranis family is investing between $25 million and $35 million into the new facility, including the cost to purchase the land on which the facility is being built from the ground up, according to Akranis.
